 Jomeimon Gate

Just past the main Kenreimon Gate, there is another, larger gate. Tile-roofed and painted in bright vermillion, the Jomeimon Gate is the second central gate to the main hall. The vermillion color signifies nobility in ancient China, and this concept was later brought to Japan. Looking up at the brightly colored gate, one can, in fact, feel awe.
