Ippodo Tea Shop
Located in the quiet neighborhood of Teramachi Nijo, Ippodo is a select Japanese tea shop founded in 1717. Its teas are cultivated in the Uji area, a renowned tea growing region south of Kyoto. At the shop, you can find a wide selection of Japanese tea from high-grade matcha and gyokuro to casual, roasted hojicha. The store's noren are changed to white curtains with black calligraphy during the summer since the white is thought to have a more cooling affect than black.
