Lotus Moat, Higashi Honganji
If you find yourself in the city center around Kyoto Station along Karasuma Street, there are two architectural structures you cannot miss. One is Kyoto Tower just in front of the station. And the other is the magnificent, wooden architecture of Higashi Honganji Temple, just a few blocks away from the station. Kyoto Tower is often called "a candle for Higashi Honganji" because its appearance resembles a traditional Japanese candle that is used within Buddhist temple halls.
