autumn colors

Autumn is perhaps the best season to visit Kyoto. From late October to early December, the colors of the trees begin to gradually change –starting in the surrounding hills and later down in the center of the town, everything seems transformed in beautiful autumn splendor.

From the top of a tall building — like the Kyoto Hotel Okura or Kyoto Tower — the old imperial palace in the center of the city appears like a jewelry box of golds, reds, and greens.
