Autumn Leaves at Ryuminan
This is the street I walked every day during my high school years. Up the hill five minutes, I walked back and forth to Hiyoshigaoka High School, which stands at the top of the hill. Many people, however, do not walk all the way up the hill. Especially in autumn, instead they turn right just after this fiery red maple tree to head for Tofukuji Temple, one of the most popular spots for enjoying autumn-leaves in Kyoto. Ryumian, whose name literally means "sleeping dragon's hut," is a sub-temple of Tofukuji.
